There is no doubt that comments are beneficial to the website and blogs in terms of improving SEO. However, if you don't have anyone to look after them, managing them may be a real pain. Not only that, but if your WordPress website receives a large number of comments, the output of your website will suffer. So, what's the answer? Of course, you can uninstall it permanently or temporarily.

How To Disable Comments On Any Particular Page Or Post

The very first action you need to take is to head to Pages > All Pages in your WordPress dashboard. Once you are there, look for the title of the page you don’t want to receive comments on and then click on the Edit button found right below it.

Then, in the top right corner of the editing screen, you'll see three dots, which you should select. After that, a dropdown menu will appear on your phone, from which you must pick Options.

This action will bring up a popup on your computer screen, where you must search for the Discussion box to be opened. If it isn't, simply check the box and move on to the next level.

Close the popup window and the Options tab, then find the Discussion section in your right sidebar. Simply go to the meta box and uncheck the Allow Comments box if it is already checked.

Now it's time to save the updates, so press Update - and there you have it! The comments on your requested article have been disabled successfully.

Now that you know how to disable comments on a specific page or post, it’s time to grab information about how to inactive comments on your posts or pages in bulk.

How To Disable Comments On Multiple Posts Or Pages

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Posts > All Posts to accomplish this. You'll see that all of your blog posts are neatly organised in a folder here. Select Edit from the list of options in the Bulk Actions dropdown menu. After that, press Apply to be taken to a new page where you can edit several items in bulk, like deactivating all comments.

Once you are on that screen, look for the Comments field where you have to make changes. After you have found it, click on the dropdown menu and select “Do not allow”. Doing this will disable comments on all your posts and pages and no longer you will have to be concerned about bad messages.

Next, click on Update and then your changes will be saved right away.
